U.S. Shipping, Duties & Import Fees

Shopping from the United States? We've made it simple.

LafoBikes is based in Canada, but 85% of our business comes from cyclists across the United States.

Many U.S. customers find us while searching for premium cycling products, replacement parts and hard-to-find components that may be difficult or impossible to find locally.

If you've finally found the product you've been looking for at LafoBikes, here's everything you need to know about having it delivered to the United States.

What does the shipping charge include?

International shipping involves more than simply transporting a package from Canada to the United States.

Our U.S. shipping rates are designed to cover the costs associated with getting your order from LafoBikes to your door, including:

  • UPS or FedEx international transportation

  • Applicable U.S. duties and tariffs

  • Applicable taxes

  • Customs and import processing

  • Other applicable import-related fees

These costs are included in the shipping rate shown at checkout.

No surprise fees at delivery

One of the most important things to know is that applicable import costs are prepaid.

The amount you pay at checkout is intended to be your final delivered cost.

You should not receive an unexpected bill for duties or tariffs when your package arrives.

Why can shipping seem expensive on smaller orders?

We understand that the shipping charge can sometimes look high compared with the price of a small item.

Unfortunately, many of the costs involved in international shipping and customs processing exist regardless of whether the package contains a $20 replacement part or a much larger order.

This is why international shipping can represent a larger percentage of the total on small orders.

If you're ordering a smaller item, it can often make sense to combine several products into the same order, since shipping and import costs do not necessarily increase proportionally with every additional item.

We don't use shipping as a profit center

LafoBikes does not inflate international shipping rates to generate additional profit.

We regularly compare the amount we charge with our actual shipping and import costs and adjust our rates whenever possible.

Our goal is simple: cover the real cost of getting your order to you while keeping international shipping as affordable and predictable as possible.

Hard to find? That's where we come in.

Sometimes the part you need simply isn't available locally.

That's one of the reasons cyclists across the United States shop at LafoBikes.

From premium components to replacement parts and harder-to-find cycling products, we carry products that aren't always easy to source elsewhere.

So while international shipping may cost more than a domestic shipment, sometimes what matters most is finally finding the right product — in stock and ready to ship.

Hard to find. Easy to get. No surprise import fees.
