The C-RS has a monocoque design to enhance rigidity and power transfer, while the carbon layup has been careful to ensure a great deal of ride comfort has been worked into the fabric of the frame. They have also given it a 27.2mm seatpost and a clever integrated seat clamp on the top tube which will offer a minute springiness to the post, helping to absorb road chatter. It’s not something you are likely to feel actively, but how well this works will become clear when you get home after a four hour ride without feeling completely shattered. The geometry will also go a long way towards making the C-RS a racing bike that will still be comfortable enough to put in some serious long distance miles. And as with all Colnagos, you’ll get to enjoy the excellent handling that finds that perfect balance between stability and responsiveness. The compact seatstays and relatively short but wide chainstays will enhance the acceleration and liven the handling, and will accommodate up to 25mm wide tires.
At the front end, you can count on the straight bladed monocoque carbon fork to ensure sharp, responsive handling without feeling twitchy. It is a fine balance since you want to be able to cut a sharp line when cornering or descending, but you want to feel confident in being the one in control. That is what Colnago does so well: keep you in control. Then including a press fit bottom bracket has given them the chance to beef up the down tube and BB area, enhancing the strength and rigidity of the frame, ready to stand up to your best sprinting efforts. Internal cable routing keeps the whole setup looking slick with clean lines.
